Will you sign my board?

Ha ha. Today i was at the park and a 6 year old skater asked his dad, "Daddy, will you ask him (me) if he will sign my board?" The dad told his son, "You can go up to him and ask him". The little guy walked up to me and asked for my autograph on his board. Ha ha ha. I told him, "Maybe someday pros will come through town and you can ask one of them to sign your board, I'm really not that good". He didn't care and asked again, "Can i have your autograph on my board?". I ended up signing his brand new, unscratched christmas present board. His brother and a few of his friends hovered over me while I signed it and I had my moment of stardom. I thought the other kids were going to ask for my autograph next but they were a little older and knew I was nobody famous.

Ollies, Jan 4th can work for me, I agree with Gimpy...another big group would be a blast.

Ollie's Trip ! ! ! !

Phil threw it out there that he's looking to head to Ollie's next Sunday, Jan. 4th 2009, and that sounds like a damn fine idea to me. So . . . grab your board, your stoke, and don't forget your gnarballs on the way out the door either. Let's get another large crew and kick in the New Year right. Who's In ? ? ? ?

Your sport is totally bogus.

This has been covered by everyone but me. Until now... This absolutely kicks ass. I dare say, it's like, totally rad. I present to you "All 80s All Day!"

Now Skidzilla, Steve-O, and NoShow are going to have no idea who these guys are, nor why this is so freakin' awesome... You 3 just sit back and enjoy what you missed while you were NOT skating 20 years ago. But the rest of you old buggers know what's up. Now before you hit play, you must stand up and do the "Scooby Doo Time Warp/Dream Sequence dance"... *doodlydoo doodlydoo doodlydoo* (sound effect required for the dance)

Welcome back to the 80s!! The land of backyard vert ramps with channels and pvc coping, along with spandex and neon colored everything. Now excuse me while I go out to buy some suspenders.

Ollie's last weekend!

In an effort to add some more tasteful content to the Cretin blog (if at all possible for a Cretin)...

We took no video (yet 3 or 4 cameras were in the vicinity) and we took no photos (at least 2 digicams were available)... we took only our gnar, and we left it there.

I love that park, but seriously they need to bust out the mop and/or the belt sander. EVERY surface is slick as the snot of the 2nd week of a full on 4 week head cold. Even with DitchTechFormula wheels, Skidzilla was hangin' on and not always succeeding.

We had a full crew on hand... Skidzilla, Pollo, Gimpy, Myself, Travio, Jr., Phil, John, Scott, Dane and Adam. And quite surprising, it was apparently Old Guy day at Ollie's. I counted only 5 lil' groms, and everyone else was at least 18-28 (other than us old melon farmers). Which made for a super fun session to just watch. Lots of rippers.

The bowl was my favorite, as it was the least slick, yet easily flushed me into a spin in the flat. The Micro beat me down. A slam hard enough that ya check the helmet to see if it's cracked. It wasn't, but my neck is still tight even today. I got my grinds fairly easily in the bowl this trip. I was STOKED!

Gimpy was on nitro!! He was hands down the fastest fkr in the place. He's one of the few goofy footers I can try to steal lines from, and I just can't... pisses me off. Go SpeedRacer!

We hit "Margaritas" restaurant for lunch. Breaded and fried jalapenos on a burger... good chit. Not quite as good as "Too many Top Shelf Margaritas at the Pink Taco..." but still tasty. Gimpy's lunch apparently didn't agree with him. Hope he didn't leave skidmarks in the wooden bowl...

I'll simply ask other Cretins to comment or post up with their highlights... damn good day skating with you fkrs. Lets do it again soon.

Bonus:
A shortened version of a movie game idea from a blogger I read on occassion. http://renegadefilmsnob.blogspot.com/ Snobbish, yea, but amusing. 'Tis also where I discovered the term "Melon Farmer."

It says to do 20 of your favorite movies, but I'm only doin' 5. I'm a lazy bastard. (I'm also including skate vids. Sorry Pedestrian Readers.)

A. Pick some of your favorite movies.
B. Then pick one of your favorite quotes from each movie.
C. Post the quotes on your blog.
D. Have people guess what the movies are. (No cheating!)
E. Once it has been correctly identified, place the guesser's username after the quote. These are easy for real. Bonus points if you can name the character/person.

1. "I got a car now. I know what's up."
2. "Maybe you're not doin' it right, Roach."
3. "He cracked his head on a frontside."
4. "That's a bold statement."
5. "Schiess dem fenster"

So long old pal...

My trusty Scottish Sidekick, Duncan MacDougal IV, passed away overnight. He was 14 years old and was with me through thick and thin. He travelled to Tucson, dealt with the desert heat, and travelled back home to Kentucky to brave the cold winters. Duncan could windsurf better than any dog I ever saw and gave the best "puppy dust" naps with a good heavy *sigh* and full body *plop*. He kept me sane during the worst time of my life, and showed me that if I would just throw the damn frisbee, he'd catch it, and everything would be ok. Thanks for everything Buddy. We'll miss you terribly.

"My name is Duncan MacDougal of the Clan MacDougal. I've come for your head."

"If it's not Scottish, it's crap!"
