What's in Kingsport, TN?
Well, a smooth little skatepark with some odd lines and finiky coping for starters.
The "Scott Adams Memorial Skatepark" has smooth concrete
and lots of speed can be found if you're patient with yourself
(like I need to be) or good, like all other skaters are.
There is a great 3 clover bowl. It took me 1-1/2 sessions to find
the speed line. Don't get too upset that the coping sticks out like
the Hunchback of Notre Damn (yeah ruined several great runs)
in some spots and smooth as little Indy's butt in others.
(reference a small Cretin)
Once the speed was found, you can ride it until your legs fall off!
I did find a couple of 50/50's on that stupid coping.
There is also a kind of snake run into a deep end pocket. There
are a couple of hips in this and tons of speed. Very fun!
Only real let down was that the locals seemed to avoid the round walls
in favor of the street area. It's hard for an old man to take run after run
and not share the crete with anyone.
Thanks for hosting an old sk8r Kinsport locals. See ya again sometime.
